About The Show Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Commedia dell’Arte Weekend Workshop
Deadline: May 15
Theatre Three
May 16 - 17
We’ll begin with a brief history of Commedia dell’Arte, tracing its origins in Renaissance Italy and its enduring impact on theatre and performance. Warmups will focus on physical preparation and body isolation—essential tools for Commedia’s expressive movement and character work. Participants will then delve into character movement techniques, exploring how physical choices shape and define archetypal roles. The workshop will include study and practice of lazzi—classic comedic bits and physical gags that are central to Commedia performance. We’ll also work with Italian canovaccio (improvisational scenarios), the traditional frameworks Commedia actors used to build performances around stock situations and improvised dialogue. By the end of the weekend, participants will collaborate to create and perform short improvisational pieces inspired by authentic Commedia methods and canovaccio work. When: May 16 & 17, 2026 12:00PM – 6:00PM Where: Norma Young Arena Stage 2688 Laclede Street, Suite 120 Dallas, TX 75201 How Much: $200 Where to Sign Up: https://www.onthestage.tickets/theatre-three%20
